Bryan Pinto 
Managing Director

Bryan Pinto spent 11 years in the law enforcement field working as a Police Officer. His former employers include the Los Angeles Police Department and the Visalia Police Department. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice Management and Administration from Union University and is currently working on his Masters Degree.
Bryan graduated from the Los Angeles Police Department Police Academy in 1999. Upon graduation from the academy, Bryan was awarded the "Tina Kerbrat" award for being an outstanding cadet during the academy.

During his employment as a Police Officer, Bryan served as a Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Youth Service Officer and Commercial Policing Officer. Bryan also served as a member of the Mobile Field Force for the LAPD during the 2000 Democratic National Convention. Bryan was also an Explorer Post advisor where he was awarded the Advisor of the Year Award twice.

In 2009, Bryan was awarded the California Hero award from Mothers Against Drunk Driving for his work in the enforcement and training of drunk driving incidents. Bryan also was awarded a total of 9 commendations for good work from the Chief of Police.

Bryan focused the majority of his career in the area of training. From 2006 to 2009 he was assigned as a Recruit Training Officer at the Tulare/Kings Police Academy. He is POST certified Defensive Tactics Instructor as we as a POST and NHTSA certified DUI Instructor.

 
 
Jeff Anderson 
Associate Instructor

Jeff Anderson Ph.D is a retired Deputy Sheriff and a California P.O.S.T. recognized expert in Force Options and Weaponless Defense. He holds 3 Black-belts; one (6th Degree Dan) in Shudokan Ryu Taiho Jutsu, one (3rd Degree Dan) in Shudokan Ryu Karate and one (3rd Degree Dan) in Goju Ryu Karate.

He is a Graduate of the Executive Protection Institute, Berryville, West Virginia and the U.S. Army Dignitary Protection Course, Germany. He is an active member of the Nine Lives Association for Protection Specialists.

He perfected his skills as a highly decorated member of the U.S. Army Airborne for ten years and later as a Deputy Sheriff for Riverside County, California. The Police Hall of Fame recognizes him as a Legion of Merit and a Purple Heart recipient. He has instructed Weaponless Defense for several Military Courses and Force Options for law enforcement academies as well as Advanced Officer Training for senior officers.

As owner of a specialized tactical training company, Anderson & Associates, he has taught and trained, 15 USMC Battalion’s in High Risk Close Personal Protection techniques. During the past five years he has trained over 2,100 USMC personnel in weaponless defense techniques. He currently provides close personal protection for corporate executives both domestically and overseas. He holds a Doctoral Degree in Martial Arts Science from the University of Asian Martial Arts Studies, Carbondale, Illinois. He is a member of ASLET, (American Society of Law Enforcement Trainers) and a 2004 Masters Hall of Fame Inductee (Martial Arts). He is also a 2009 Inductee in the USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame and a current member of the Board of Directors for both the Masters Hall of Fame and Martial Arts Hall of Fame..

 
Crystal Derington 
Instructor

Christal Derington has worked in Law Enforcement for nine years. Christal is currently employed as a Deputy Sheriff for the past six years.

Christal graduated from the Tulare-Kings Police Academy and the Allan Hancock College Police Dispatcher Academy. Christal also graduated from the College of Sequoias with an Associates of Arts degree. She is currently finishing her Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice Administration with National University.

Christal is a member of various gang investigator associations throughout California and has worked with current and former gang members for more than 6 years. Christal helped start a multi agency gang unit which was established in 2008. Christal has assisted with numerous STEP Up Gang Summits throughout the county. Christal has spoken with hundreds of gang members during investigations, on the streets and in custody. She is familiar with the identification of active and former gang members as well as current gang trends. During her employment, Christal has also been involved in the Community Oriented Policing programs including Neighborhood Watch and the Explorer Programs.

Prior to becoming a Deputy Sheriff, Christal was employed as a Police and Fire Dispatcher for the cities of Visalia and Santa Barbara.

Leonard Rosson 
Operations Director

Leonard Rosson is a 16 year law enforcement veteran with experience in both County and Municipal Police Services. Leonard has served in numerous assignments during his career including: patrol, investigations, court liaison, narcotics and tactical team lead. During his career, Leonard has worked several joint agency operations with such agencies as the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
In addition to the assignment of Police Sergeant, Leonard is a decorated Law Enforcement Instructor, teaching a variety of topics including: Force Options, Firearms, Impact Weapons, Unarmed Defensive Tactics, Taser and Chemical Agents. Leonard is a graduate of the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Instructor Development Institute (IDI) and has been awarded the title of Master Instructor by the Commission. As a Master Instructor, Leonard has developed and designed training for the state. Most notable, “Rapid Response Tactics for Small Agencies.”

Leonard has served as a Lead Instructor and Recruit Training Officer at multiple California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Academies. In addition to academy level instruction, Leonard has instructed numerous Advanced Officer Training Courses to senior law enforcement officers throughout the state of California. Leonard holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business and Organizational Management from Fresno Pacific University and is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree in Forensic Psychology. Leonard is a decorated Martial Artist,(beginning his training under his father, Sensei Leonard Rosson, Sr. and his Uncle, Hanshi Ken Rosson, both of whom have been inducted into a Martial Arts Hall of Fame) trained in Goju Karate, Aiki Ju-Jitsu and Shudokan Ryu Taiho Jutsu holding the rank of Sensei (Sandan). In 2007, Leonard was inducted into the Master’s Hall of Fame (Martial Arts), along with notable Martial Artists as UFC Heavy Weight Champion, Randy Couture, Eric Lee, Richard Rabago and many others. In 2010, Leonard was honored as with induction in the USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame.

 
 
Jeremy Kuckenbaker 
Protection Division President

With 14 years of law enforcement experience, Jeremy has experience in both county and municipal law enforcement. Jeremy has a wide range of experience including patrol, investigation, case management, tactical operations and training.


In addition to his wide range of tactical assignments, Jeremy also has over 6 years of experience as a law enforcement trainer serving as a California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Academy Instructor. As a POST Certified Instructor, Jeremy has trained law enforcement in the areas of Firearms (including Handgun, Shotgun, and Tactical Carbine), Impact Weapons and Weaponless Defense Tactics. Furthermore, Jeremy has provided Advanced Officer Training (AOT), in Weaponless Defense, Use of Force and Documentation regarding Use of Force Issues to in-service personnel from agencies throughout California.

Jeremy attended college at Fresno State University and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. As avid Martial Artist, Jeremy has trained in Goju Karate and Shudokan Ryu Taiho Jutsu securing the rank of Sensei (Shodan). In 2008, Jeremy was inducted into the Master’s Hall of Fame (Martial Arts) for Outstanding Contributions in the Martial Arts. In 2010, Jeremy was honored as with induction in the USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame.
 
 

 
Corey Sumpter 
Protection Division Investigator

Corey Sumpter is a thirty-one year veteran of Law Enforcement. He recently retired from the Visalia Police Department where he was employed for twenty years.  Corey started his career as a Military Policeman in the US Army. He spent three years as an MP where he was assigned as an AWOL/Deserter Investigator. He also worked special details including several Presidential Security Details for President Carter as well as other special details for other dignitaries in the New York area. 

Corey graduated from the Tulare/Kings Police Academy in 1982 and started work for the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office in 1983. He worked for TCSO for eight years where his assignments included the Custody Division, Patrol, and four years as a Detective in the Property Crimes Unit. He was also assigned to the Search and Rescue Squad and the Dive Team. 

Corey started working for the Visalia Police Department in 1991. He retired as a Sergeant supervising in the Patrol Division. He has an extensive background as a Detective. He worked as a Burglary Detective, Auto Theft Detective, Narcotics Detective, and Violent Crimes Detective. He also worked in the Narcotics Unit and Violent Crimes Unit as a Supervisor. During his career he has worked on hundreds of investigations including lead Detective on several Homicide cases. He also worked lead on several Officer Involved Shooting and Internal Affairs Investigations.
